I’M GOING TO RHODE ISLAND! KTHNXBAI!!!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL.
Not yet, but this summer, my grandpa and I’ll be heading off to the East Coast to visit some family for 2 weeks.
That being said, my aunt (who we’re staying with) doesn’t have wifi or internet access at her house, so my internet time will be very limited. I’m still bringing my laptop to get some work done when I’m not out and about. I cant wait to go and explore the different states on the East Coast!

We’re hoping to be in Rhode Island August 12th-25th if all goes well.

Luckily I’ll be back just in time for SacANIME the weekend after I get back

Comics

Epic Chaos! is, for the most part, back on track. I’ve decided to just update with pages whenever I feel like it, until I finish Chapter 1. Once Chapter 1 is completed, I’ll be taking a month break to get Chapter 2 ready, then the web comic will be back to its regular schedule.

Life

Life has been pretty tame for the past few months.
I’ve been working on commission work most of the time, and my schedule continues to become more and more jam packed with work (I bet my friends hate me for the lack of hanging out XD).
This is pretty much how my schedule is for each day…

8 am- 10 am: Wake up and Crochet

10 am- 12pm: Work on Commission Work

12pm- 1pm: Lunch Break!

1pm- 5pm: Work on More Commission Work

5pm- 6pm: Dinner!

6pm- 11 pm: More Drawing

Not enough hours in the day to finish stuff TT^TT
Having this as a job is fun XD

Well, I need to get BACK to work, I’ll try to update this thing more than I have been.

Features!

I’ve decided to make a feature of web comics and artists I like, so heres my first one!

LOOMinate aka Taylor Holt

Her Blog: Studio Loom
Her deviantART: LOOMinate
Her Webcomic:

Taylor’s web comic Vampire Fetish is a hilarious story about a vampire hunter, named Jude Hawthorn, who during the day is a struggling writer , and at night, is a vampire hunter. I LOVE this comic! The story is hilarious and always leaves you wanting more, and the art has a manga feel, but has a more unique style.
If you haven’t hear of or red any of her stuff, go do it now!

Hey guys!
So those of you who have read my last journal, you would know that Heather Jaeger and I held a panel at SacANIME.
Well The panel was successful in our opinion!
but we didn’t realize how much of a success it was till i checked my facebook today and found a link to a news article, with a section on our article! http://www.sacramentopress.com/headline/62390/Winter_2012_SacAnime
I was in total shock! I’m SOOOOO happy!
Here are some pictures that were taken of the panel

not only was the panel awesome, but i had a lot of fun at the con itself
I definitely want to make some new prints and bookmarks

And then heres a picture my boss took of me at my con table

Me and my boss XD

So far the convention year is starting off awesomely.
I’m working on getting another comic out, all while working on Jason Dube’s comics also.
I’m trying to work on getting an Artist Alley table at Fanime, and I MIGHT attend Anime Expo as an attendee.

Epic Chaos! is coming along smoothly, and I hope to be back on track by the end of February or March :3

So far this year is turning out amazingly.
I’ll update when i can later

Sadly, I haven’t had time to actually update this blog due to finals. Now that I’ve been out of school for nearly 2 weeks, you’d think I’d have had the time to update this thing. You’d guess wrong. XD

Well I’m proud to say even though 5 college classes while working on my career to be a comic artist has nearly caused me to go insane, I have prevailed! Passed all of my classes, and now I’m ready to focus more on my comics, and all my art jobs.

Epic Chaos! I’m sad to say is on hold for the time being. The 2 buffer pages that were next to be updated, broke some how. And when I say broke, I mean all of my hard work became blank layers, showing NONE of my pain staking line arting, coloring, and effects. So now I have to work from my back up files (which only had some of the base colors down), which will take a few days to catch up on. Despite the bugs, I’m proud to say chapter 1 is almost completed, with only 11 pages left until the conclusion.

For any of the EC! readers who actually read this blog, I’ll give you a heads up now, when each chapter comes to an end, I will be taking a break to finalize some pages for the next chapter, so I don’t have anymore problems updating on time. The break will be no more than a month long, all I need is some time to get the next chapters pages done, and to start sketching chapter 3′s pages, and start scripting chapter 4.

As for Guardian. Guardian will begin being worked on sometime mid January, I’m using my Illustration II class to my advantage for this one. My assignment for this class is to make a project, then work on said project for the 3 months till the end of the semester. So, I will be making Guardian my project. I’ll have 3 months to get at least 60 pages (the first chapter) completely done, and if I can, start work on the rest of it. My parents seem to think that even though I got a 32 paged comic done in 5 months, they think I’m able to get a 200 paged graphic novel done in 3 months. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! If I were a hermit than maybe! Despite contrary belief, I do have a social life to uphold, unless I want some angry friends to kidnap me.

As for my commissioned jobs, I’ve begun working on Jason Dube’s Comics vs. Manga pages once again (sorry for neglecting them!), and I’ve started working on the character sheets for Jason’s Caffeine Poisoned series. I feel really bad for neglecting these for as long as I have, I have fun working on them!

On the complete other end of the work spectrum, I’ve decided it was time that I get an ACTUAL job. No this doesnt mean I’m giving up on any hope of being a comic artist. I’ve realized lately that if I don’t get a job now, I wont be able to get one later if being a comic artist doesn’t work out. So for the sake of my future, I’m getting a part time job next semester. I think the work experience will help me out in the long run.

Well I’m going to leave this blog post with a warm Happy New Years greetings, and this picture I finished for the occassion

Happy New Years

Have a Happy New Year, and enjoy the rest of your winter break!

Hello Blogging world.

Well i finally figured out how to make a blog, it only took me a month to figure it out. XD

OK. So I’m new to this blogging concept, so forgive me if I don’t  figure it out right away.

Conventions

So on the convention side of things, I decided to do Sac-Con in Sacramento after all.

The convention is December 11th, and really the only reason i got a table this time was because of my college friend Jen.

She’s a kick-ass artist who’s never had a table, so i kinda kicked her butt into getting one. >_>

Since she’s so nervous about her first table experience, she’s trying to get either her best friend to be her table buddy, or our classmate/friend Eli to be her table buddy.

I’d totally be her table buddy, if it wasn’t for the fact that my table set up is so big, and i keep trying to have new things at each con i go to.

Speaking of new products. I’ve been practicing more with my crocheting, and I’m debating whether or not to sell hand made hats and scarves at Sac-Con.

Sure it’d be a little out-landish, but hey. It’s a winter convention, and people go nuts over things with cat ears and rainbows on them.

Comics

~Epic Chaos!

So the progress on EC! is getting easier and easier to manage, I’ve managed to finish about 5 of the buffers I’ve been meaning to work on, but haven’t had the time to. Luckily I’ve got about a chapter and a half of pages ready for line arting and coloring, so i should be sane for at least a few more months.

~Guardian

My progress on Guardian is at a stand still. I’ve got way too much work on my plate to work on the book, so I’m doubting I’ll have the book done by September 2012, but hey, a miracle might happen. My only problem will be selling the books ><

Personal life

~School

My school life is as busy as ever. Sculpture on Mondays and Wednesdays, Professionalism class on Mondays, Illustration Tuesdays and Thursdays, Accounting on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and finishing off the week with all day Ceramics on Fridays. Oh yeah, and I added in an extra class on Saturdays, with the amazing Terry Shoemaker! He’s such a nice guy!  Him, me and my Artist Bestie Heather spend an hour after class talking geek about comics, conventions, and breaking into the industry. Heather and I are the only ones in our class who are published artists, so its awesome to be able to talk with a comic book veteran.

And somehow I still have time to eat, sleep, and keep a social life, hahaha!

~Life as I Know It

Life right now is as busy as I’ve ever had it be. Full time college student, full time artist, and now a commissioned Artist for Scattered Comics. It was an honor to be asked to join the studios, and hilarious to find out the owner/head artist is a fan of my stuff XD

I never thought I’d see the day where a professional would love my stuff.

Even Terry Shoemaker had nice things to say about my stuff.

Wow this blogging things is surprisingly therapeutic.

I’ll be back next week with another post!

Ciao!
